D.A.R.E. PARTNERS WITH INTERNATIONAL KICKBOXING ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP GIVE OUR CHILDREN A FIGHTING CHANCE TO BE DRUG-FREE
D.A.R.E. America is proud to announce a new partnership with the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), www.wakoweb.com, and KICK International, www.kickinternational.com. Our new partners help young men and women grow in body and spirit not only teaching martial arts but teaching them to make healthy decisions which lead to productive and drug-free lives.
“We want to create environments outside the classroom where young people can continue to learn how to make healthy choices and pursue their dreams,” stated Charlie Parsons, president and CEO of D.A.R.E. America. Ennio Falsoni, President of WAKO stated, “ our organization already has a strong youth development component. Working with D.A.R.E. will only strengthen our efforts to help young people make good decisions that lead to better lives and better opportunities.” Frank Babcock, the President of KICK International added, “There is a real need among our kids for positive role models. To compete at the highest levels requires setting goals, working hard, and dedication to a drug-free life, a message that certainly resonates with all of our athletes.” WAKO is in 130 nations across the world, while KICK International, serves as the National Governing Body in North America for WAKO, recognized as the world governing body approved under the General Assembly of International Sports Federations. WAKO and KICK International are dedicated to the advancement of safety in martial arts and kickboxing. The participating athletes strive for recognition in a highly competitive sport which requires practice and dedication to excel in mind, body and spirit.
DARE educates America's youth and serves as the first line of defense in America's schools. The DARE program is currently taught by over 15,000 specially trained police officers in the United States and is taught in 43 other countries.
